Portsmouth based psych rock band Sierpinski’s self titled album.
I was asked to create a eye catching psychedelic poster for Sierpinski’s upcoming headline show at The Wedgewood Rooms this summer. Tickets are on sale soon.
This is a poster promoting a new single from Sierpinksi’s third album. We wanted this poster to be big and bold with its question and didnt have to relate to the upcoming album artwork I am creating.
Back in Black.
A purely typographic piece which celebrates the 40th anniversary of ACDC’s smash hit Back in Black.
Album artwork for Sierpinski bands new album Sonic Vacuum. This is the most prolific #psych band around. Albums and eps each year. I decided Sonic Vacuum which by definition, is when the sound has been sucked out of something, would be best dressed in a space theme. Leaning on the side of caution ensuring not to make it cheesy with illustrated astronauts and planets, but by being inspired by the NASA branding booklet instead. This way I could create a strong, iconic design and tie into the concept of the album well. I felt a bold simplistic cover, with just the necessary elements on it would tie into this Sonic Vacuum, this would create a contrast between the new and old Sierpinski work I have previously worked on.
Album booklet for Sonic Vacuum. I have always been fascinated by the booklet you would get in old CDs so being asked to created one was a dream come true. I felt staying true to the concept of the album artwork was essential and I wanted to roll that out throughout the booklet. Using the 1970’s NASA branding booklet as inspiration, i was able to form a template for how I wanted the lyrics to continuously be displayed and how I could place imagery throughout, including sketches and more. I wanted this booklet to contain all of the raw materials including practise sessions and set lists, alike NASA sketches of rockets and uniforms.
Created an set of instagram posts to celebrate Ilovedust’s 17th year.

I was asked to create another tour poster for south coast psych band Is Bliss. They wanted the style of the poster to evolve from their last tour as their music has moved into new areas. There was a great importance of the name Is Bliss being displayed bold and memorable. Interaction of colour was another major factor for a psych band, and we've used a bright orange and a pink to pop off the background.

Poster created in honour of the late great Jim Morrison 50 years on from his death in 1971 (03.07.2021). Artist, poet and pioneer of the 1960’s his band The Doors are one of the most celebrated from the psychedelic era. The eye catching colours are directly influenced by the 1960’s and the typography is designed with more of a modern twist.

‘Moving like a death wind
Headed for the land's end’
Lyrics from Allah Lahs - Keeping Dry.
A project exploring the pale sub-tropical light of Los Angeles.
YCN - I was asked to create a poster campaign that appeals to cultured 20-30 year olds for the Royal Opera House. I decided that bursts of colour (using Damien Hirst’s Spin Paintings as inspiration) should emerge from the celebrated ballerina’s poses therefore creating an eye catching design which will inflict interest among viewers. The imagery stands out therefore giving the design clear sense of hierarchy, allowing the type to sit quietly and effectively as a supportive element.
Fundamentals of Typography - I was asked to create an minimalist A2 poster which effectively uses white space as a powerful tool. Composing all type in the bottom half of the poster allowed the white space to really take control of the page. I decided to base the poster on an argument that is very popular in contemporary design, how the overuse of Helvetica has caused some designers to abandon the typeface.
Typography piece developed from ACDC Back in Black.
I was asked to create two magaine spreads based on ------- essay on white space. I decided to create dynamic spreads using contrasted image and text.
Ethical Design - Water Ways is a charity based app (i’ve created and designed) aimed at students and their peers. Focusing on managing your water consumption by means of your diet. Water Scarcity has been a huge problem for poor countries for many years, but the western lifestyle has done little to tailor its consumption to support a shared water community. Clean water is a human right, but for millions of people it is becoming much more a commodity, something has to change. Water Ways confronts this issue by making consumers aware of the water footprint of their foods and by giving more thoughtful alternatives. Small changes can make a big difference. I researched many water charity’s, and found that the only way individuals can make a difference is fundraising, and mainly, donating. This could be an issue for young people, students to be precise, because money isn’t necessarily at their disposal. Water Ways allows you to contribute without having to donate, this allows younger people to become much more involved in the process of change. I found during my research that keeping a consistent and simple layout and navigation can keep users interested and informed, and also how certain colours can nudge users into where I intend them to go. Creating an app was perfect for this message, because it offers the users the chance to take action instantly, and can allow them to keep updating their actions on the go. I think this has resulted in an extremely successful outcome that combines easy to a use familiar navigation system and a clean playful aesthetic to inform and allow users to take action against a very important ethical issue. ©
Design Practise - I was asked to design a book for Mohsin Hamid’s short story ‘Alien Invasion in the GLAC’. I decided to design to this story because I felt it gave me the freedom to experiment with a wide range of idea’s down to its sci-fi genre. A key theme throughout the book is confinement, as the humans are confined to a triangle shaped city of Lahore. I decided to create a typeface which confines itself to an isometric grid, giving the type an interesting aesthetic coming from the Aliens point of view. The forms of the letters from this typeface are then used throughout the book to create an interesting visual storytelling dynamic, relevant to each spread.
